What is wellness, really?

Is it a perfect sleep score? Hitting your step count religiously? Counting every calorie? Maxxing every single hour of every single day?

In today's trackable society, wellness feels sometimes to me like another set of numbers to hit, or another reason to feel like I'm not quite doing enough.

I started Sama Scarlett because I don't think it has to be like that.

A different version of Wellness

For me, wellness looks a lot more like laughing too loud, with a group of fantastic people, too late into the evening, wine glass in hand.

It's moving your body because it feels good, not to burn calories from a meal you've eaten. It's being comfortable doing hobbies you haven't mastered yet.

It's nourishing your body and not getting hung up on how it looks.

Balance

That's what Sama Scarlett is built on: the idea that balance is good for the soul.

It's about enjoying the life you have, the body you have, the stage you're at, and the people around you.

What that looks like on a retreat

On a Sama Scarlett retreat, that means yoga that's open to every level, real food cooked with real care without a number of calories attached to a meal, good wine, and plenty of time to talk.

In August it meant surfing in Cornwall, painting, grounding through vinyasa and yin yoga, and long dinners with a lovely amount of wine.

No detox.

Next up: the Winter Goals Retreat

The next retreat is in a Georgian townhouse in the middle of Bath, from 29th to 31st December. Three days of yoga and meditation, reflecting on 2026 and making a real plan for 2027, with great food, very good wine and a fantastic group of people.

We finish on the morning of New Year's Eve, so you're home in plenty of time for your plans.
